MIXED MEDIA ART BY ANNIE COE
Nearly every painting starts with a dream, either waking or sleeping. I am
inspired by the natural world: beetles, seed pods, stones, the blue of the sea and sky.
Inspiration also comes from rusted things, decaying walls, and discarded treasure.
I am delighted by texture and color and a wonderful line. I work with Venetian plaster, oil paint
graphite, pen, rice paper, teabags, fabric and thread to get the effects I desire.
Each painting is for me an adventure, an exploration of spirit,
an attempt to say in paint and textile what cannot be said in words.
